Ortec RadEaglet
$750
The Ortec RadEaglet is a portable, durable, and lightweight gamma spectrometer and Radioisotope Identification Device (RIID). It excels in swiftly identifying radionuclides in field conditions. ERG staff have found the RadEaglet to be user-friendly in both field and office environments. Included with the RadEaglet is a concise 2-page ERG Mini Manual that guides users through the RadEaglet’s basic operations of startup and energy calibration, spectrum collection and radioisotope identification, and download of spectrum files for viewing on a computer without the need for additional software.

Description
The RadEaglet has multiple modes to help locate and identify radionuclides.
Does Rate Mode displays current dose rate (in either rem or Sv), count rate, and neutron count. This mode allows users to set warning and alarm indicators for dose rate.
Detect Measuring Mode allows users to locate radiation sources. When in Detect Measuring Mode, the RadEaglet displays dose rate history in the form of a auto-scaling chart, allowing users to visually identify the direction of the radiation sources. The Detect Measuring Mode also produces and audible feedback for changing does rate.
Easy ID Mode is used to acquire a spectrum to identify what radionuclides are present after the location of a radiation source has been identified.
Spectrum and analysis data is stored in an accessible Micro SD card in ANSI N42.42 (xml) and SPE (IAEA) file formats. Spectrum files can be accessed by either direct copy to a USB flash drive, or by direct download to a computer using a USB cable.
The aluminum and fiber reinforced plastic housing is durable and designed to withstand field conditions. The Eaglet has housing dimensions (W x L x H) of 90 mm (3.5 in) x 280 mm (11 in) x 110 mm (4.33 in).
